AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA ADDING SECTION-3102.5 TO THE WEST
COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO NOTICE OF
VEHICLE CODE VIOLATIONS.
0 The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 3102.5 is added to the West Covina
Municipal Code to read:
"3102.5. Notice of Vehicle Code.Violations.
Pursuant to such rules and procedures as are
prescribed by the Chief of Police, the Traffic
Division may, as a part of its traffic safety
program, issue a notice of Vehicle Code violation
to drivers operating vehicles with defective
equipment, or defective registration.
A notice of Vehicle Code violation shall only
be issued in those cases in which the officer has
reasonable cause to believe that the driver:
(a) Is not aware of the violation, or
(b) Has had inadequate opportunity to
correct such violation.
• The notice of Vehicle Code violation shall require
the repair or replacement of defective equipment or
the correction of registration defects within ten days.
If the necessary corrections are not made within the
ten-day period, a complaint may be issued on the basis
of the violation."
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as
required by law.

Council on the 9th day of June , 1969, by the following
