AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AMENDING SECTION 2410 OF THE WEST
COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO OFFICES AND
EMPLOYMENTS IN`THE EXEMPT SERVICES.
The City Council of.the City of West Covina does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2410 of the West Covina Municipal Code
is hereby amended to read:
112410. Exempt Service.
The provisions of this Chapter, the Classification
and Salary Resolution and the Personnel Rules shall
apply to all offices, employments and positions in
the service of the City except the following:
(a) Elective Offices.
(b) Members of appointive boards, commissions
and committees.
(c) City Manager and Assistant City Manager.
• (d) City Attorney.
(e) Building and Safety.Director.
(f ) Controller.
(g) City Engineer and Assistant City Engineer.
(h) Civil Defense Director and Deputy Civil
Defense Director.
(i) Administrative Assistant, Administrative
Analysist and Administrative Aide..
( j ) Personnel Officer.
(k) Public Service Director_.
(1) City Manager's Secretary.
(m) Police Chief and Assistant Police Chief.
(n) Cadets .(Police Department).
(o) Fire Chief.
i(p) Planning Director and Assistant Planning
Director.
(p 1) Communications Director.
(q) Recreation and Park Director.
• (r) Special Services Officer.
(s) Persons engaged under contract to supply
expert, professional, or technical services
for a definite period of time.
(t) Volunteer personnel who receive no regular
compensation from the City.
(u) Limited Service Personnel.
(v) Any new position hereafter created of the
department head, assistant department head,
or staff level, if it is specified as exempt
by the City Council at the time of creation.
However, the provisions of this Chapter and the Classifi-
cation and Salary Resolution pertaining to position clas-
sification, attendance, vacations, and holidays shall
apply to all full-time exempt positions. Further, the
provisions of Sections 2434, 2435, 2436 and 2437 shall
apply to all full-time positions except elective office."
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
