AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE BOARD
OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC
EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. That an amendment to the Contract between the
City Council of the City of West Covina and the Board of
Administration, California Public Employees' Retirement System
is hereby authorized, a copy of said amendment being attached
hereto, marked "Exhibit A,' and by such reference made a part
hereof as though herein set out in full.
SECTION 2. The Mayor of the City of West Covina is
hereby authorized, empowered, and directed to execute said
amendment for and on behalf of said Agency.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days
after the date of its final passage, and prior to the expira-
tion of 15 days from the passage thereof shall be published
at least once in the West Covina Tribune, a newspaper of
general circulation, published and circulated in the City of
West Covina and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.

EXHIBIT A
AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION
PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIRMTENT SYSTEM
AND THE
CITY COUNCIL
OF THE
CITY OF WEST COVINA
The Board of Administration, Public Employees' Retirement System, hereinafter,
referred to as Board, and the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF WEST COVINA, hereinafter
referred to as Public Agency, having entered into contract under date of May 26,,
1966, effective July 1, 1966, which provides for participation of Public Agency'in
said System, Board and Public Agency hereby agree as follows:
A. The words "EXCLUDE ELECTED OFFICIALS" shall be stricken from the exist-
ing exclusion in Paragraph 3 of said contract. The following exclusion
will then apply:
EXCLUDE EMPLOYEES COMPENSATED ON AN HOURLY BASIS.
B. This amendment shall be attached to said contract and shall become
effective on the 1st day of 'November, 1968
