Ordinance - 981ORDINANCE NO. 981 • AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF WEST COVINA OF CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "WEST COVINA SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 192" PURSUANT TO A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID TERRITORY ON THE 13TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1966 WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, known as the "Annexation Act of 1913", and pursuant to Resolution No. 3414 adopted by the City Council of the City of West Covina on the llth day of July, 1966, a special election was held on the 13th day of Sep- tember, 1966, in -that certain inhabited territory contiguous to the City of West Covina designated as "West Covina Southerly Annexation District No. 192" and which is hereinafter more par- ticularly described;. and WHEREAS, at said special election the question of the annexation of said territory to the City of West Covina was sub- mitted to the qualified electors residing in said territory; and WHEREAS, it appears from the canvass of the returns of the votes cast at said special election that a majority of all votes cast in said territory on the question of said Annexation favor annexation upon the terms contained in the question sub- mitted; and WHEREAS, it appears that said special election and all proceedings relating thereto have been conducted strictly in accordance with law; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. That the annexation of that certain inhab- ited territory contiguous to the City of West Covina designated as "West Covina Southerly Annexation District No. 192" be and the same hereby is approved. Said territory is described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the northerly and westerly boundary lines of the City of West Covina as same existed on September 19, 1963 with the certification of Southerly Annexation District No. 181 to the City of West Covina (Ordinance No. 815), said intersection being the intersection of southerly boundary of E. J. Baldwin's Fifth Subdivision of a portion of Rancho La Puente in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map thereof recorded in Book 12, Pages 134 and 135 of Maps, in the office of the County.Recorder of said County, with the east line of Pass and Covina Road, 60 feet wide, as per map of Tract No. 13875, recorded in Book 284, Pages 41 and 42 of Maps in the Records of said County; thence westerly along the westerly prolongation of said southerly boundary to intersection with the centerline of said Pass and Covina Road, 60 feet wide, which last intersection is the True Point of Beginning; thence northwesterly along said centerline to the southerly terminus of that certain course.having a bearing of 0°15120" east in the centerline of Pass and Covina Road as last mentioned centerline is shown on said map of last -1- 0 • • mentioned tract; thence northerly along last mentioned centerline to the westerly prolongation of the center- line of Future Street now Maplegrove Street, 60 feet wide, as shown on said map of last mentioned tract; thence easterly along said centerline of Maplegrove Street to intersection with the westerly line of Tract No. 19056 as per map thereof recorded in Book 495, pages 18 and 20 inclusive, of Maps in the Records of said County; thence easterly along centerline of Maplegrove Street as shown on said map of the last mentioned tract, north 75036'23" east 306.40 feet to intersection with the centerline of Lark Ellen Avenue as shown on said map of last mentioned tract; thence northerly an arc distance of 138.42 feet along the centerline of said Lark Ellen Avenue which is a nontangent curve concave easterly having a radius of 600 feet, through a delta of 13013'05" to intersection with the boundary of said Tract No. 19056 being a nontan- gent line bearing north 57008'.09" east; thence along last mentioned line easterly 47.67 feet to intersect with the most northerly corner of Lot 4 of said Tract No. 19056; thence along the northerly boundary of said Tract No.19056 to the most northeasterly point of said Tract No. 19056 which at this point adjoins Tract No. 29000, which last mentioned tract is shown on map recorded in Map Book 712, pages 74 through 76 inclusive of Maps, in the records of said County; thence easterly along the boundary of said Tract No. 29000 and following the same in all its various courses to the point on last mentioned boundary which adjoins Tract No. 26809 which last mentioned tract is shown on map recorded in Book 719, Pages 1 and 2 of Maps, in the records of said County, last mentioned point being also the most easterly point of Lot 40 of said Tract No. 29000; thence southeasterly along the boundary of said Tract No. 26809 to intersection with the northerly boundary of the aforementioned Southerly Annexation Dist- rict No. 181 to the City of West Covina at the most southeasterly point of said Tract No. 26809; thence westerly along said northerly boundary of said Southerly Annexation District No. 181 which is also the southerly boundary of said E. J. Baldwin's Fifth Subdivision, to the Point of Beginning. SECTION 2. this ordinance Tribune.
