AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEST COVINA RELATING TO THE ADOPTION, IMPLEMENTATION
AND MAINTENANCE OF A GENERAL PLAN.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
follows:
.The Planning Commission shall prepare, and the City Council
shall adopt, a new and amended comprehensive, long-term general plan for
the physical development of the City, and of any land outside its
boundaries which, in the Planning Commission's judgment bears relation
to its planning, all in accordance with Articles 5 and 6 of Chapter 3 of
Title 7 of the Government Code, subject, but not limited, to the following
conditions:
(a) The plan shall include, in addition to those matters
required by Article 5 of Chapter 3 of Title 7 of the Government Code,
any and all elements specified in Government Code Section 65303 as may
be deemed applicable to the City;
(b) Specific Plans shall be adopted by ordinance, and
administered in accordance with Articles 8, 9 and 10 of Chapter 3 of
Title 7 of the Government Code;
(c) The Planning Commission shall administer such General
Plan, as adopted, in accordance with Article 7 of Chapter 3 of the
Government Code;
(d) Such Plan, when adopted, shall supersede any existing
General Plan of the City;
•(e) The Planning Commission shall annually review the new
General Plan, as adopted, and recommend amendments thereto to the City
Council in accordance with Article 6, Chapter 3 of Title 7 of the
Government Code;
(f) The City shall participate in Area Planning, in accord-
ance with Article 11, Chapter 3 of Title 7 of the Government Code,
whenever feasible.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance
and shall publish the same as required by law.
