ORDINANCE NO. 892.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AMENDING SECTIONS 2422 AND 2424 OF
THE 'WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE
PERSONNEL SYSTEM.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2422 of the West Covina Municipal Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"2422. PROBATIONARY PERIOD.
All original and promotional appointments shall be for
a probationary period of one year. During the probationary
period, the employee may be rejected at any time without right
of appeal or hearing."
SECTION 2. Section 2424 of the West Covina Municipal Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"2424. PROMOTION TO NON-COMPETITIVE POSITIONS.
Any employee in the competitive service promoted or
transferred to a position not included in the competitive service
shall be reinstated,to the position from which he was promoted'
or,transferred, if, within one year after such promotion or
transfer action is taken to reject or dismiss him, unless he
is discharged for causes as provided in Section 2423, and in
the manner provided in this Chapter and the rules established
for positions in the competitive service." '
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and publish the same as required by law.
