AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AMENDING SECTION 9224.5 OF THE WEST
COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE GIVING OF
NOTICE OF HEARING IN ZONING MATTERS.
• The City Council of the City.of West Covina does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 9224.5 of the West Covina Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"9224.5. Same. Notices. Notice of public hearing stating
the type of application or nature of proposal, description of
property under consideration, and the time and place at which
the public hearing is to be held shall be given in the following
manner and shall be completed not less than ten days prior to
the date of hearing:
(a) For a reclassification of property from one zone
to another or for a variance, conditional use permit, un-
classified use permit, or precise plan of design:
1. By one publication in a -newspaper having general
circulation in the City; and,
2. By posting in front of the property not more
-than one hundred feet apart on each side of the street
upon which said property fronts for a distance of not
less than three hundred feet in each direction from
• said property under consideration a notice consisting
of the words "NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING" printed in plain
type with letters of not less than one inch in height; and/or
3. By mailing a notice to the owners of property
within a radius of three hundred feet of the exterior
boundaries of the property under consideration, using
for this purpose the name and address of such owners
as shown upon the latest available assessment rolls of
the County Assessor.
4. Both mailing and posting are to be used in all
instances unless otherwise directed by the Planning
Commission or City Council, as the case may be.
(b) For amendments, supplements or changes to the Zoning
Ordinance that do not reclassify any property from one zone to
another but do impose, change or remove any new regulation on
the use or development of property:
1. By one publication in a newspaper having general
circulation in the City."
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and cause the same to be published as required by law.
