Ordinance - 809ORDINANCE NO. 809 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 'WEST COVINA AMENDING THE DEFINITIONS OF BUILDING HEIGHT AND GRADE IN THE ZONING CHAPTER OF THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE. The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as follows. - SECTION 1. The definition of "Building Height" contained in section 9201 of the West Covina Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "BUILDING HEIGHT - The vertical distance from the 'Grader to the highest point of the coping of a flat roof or to the deck line of a mansard roof or to the highest point of the highest gable of a pitch or hip roof, but exclusive of vents, air conditioners, chimneys or other such incidental appurtenances." SECTION 2. Section 9201 of the West Covina Municipal Code is hereby amended by the addition thereto, in proper alphabetical order, of a definition of grade as follows: "GRADE (Ground Level) - The average of the exterior finished ground level at the center of all walls of a building. In case walls are parallel to and within five feet (51) of a sidewalk, the above ground level shall be measured at the sidewalk." •SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law. Passed and approved this 22nd day of July 1963.
