AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AMENDING SECTIONS 2709 AND 2710 OF
THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
PURCHASE AND CONTRACTS FOR SUPPLIES, SERVICES
AND EQUIPMENT.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. The first paragraph of Section 2709 of the West
Covina Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Except as otherwise provided herein, purchases and contracts
for supplies, services and equipment of a value greater than
$2,500.00 shall be by written contract with or written purchase
order to the lowest responsible bidder, pursuant to the pro-
cedure prescribed herein."
SECTION 2. The first paragraph of Section 2710 of the West
Covina Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Purchases of supplies, equipment and contractual services
of an estimated value in the amount of $2,500.00 or less may be
made by the Purchasing Officer in the open market without
observing the procedure prescribed by Section 2709:"
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and publish the same as required by law.

hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 791 was regularly
introduced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of
the City Council on the 25th day of March , 1963. That,
thereafter, said ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular
meeting of the City Council on the 8th day of April 1963,
by the following vote, to -wit:
