The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. Hearings having been held after legal notice
thereof, the West Covina Municipal Code is hereby amended by the addition
thereto of a new Section 9220.21 reading as follows:
119220.21. HILLSIDE AREAS. REQUIREMENTS FLEXIBLE.
Whenever it is found by resolution of the Planning Commission
that by reason of steepness of slope, uneven topography, or cir-
cumstances requiring lots of unusual shape, the application of
the required setbacks, frontages, lot widths, lot depths or lot
areas contained in this Chapter would be impracticable, the
Planning Commission shall by resolution fix such lesser setbacks,
frontages, lot widths, lot depths and areas for such lots as may
be necessary to eliminate the hardship caused by such circum-
stances but conforming as nearly as practicable to those
established by this Chapter, and when approved by motion of the
City Council, the same shall prevail in lieu of the requirements
otherwise set forth herein."
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and cause the same to be published as required by law.
