ORDINANCE NO. 727
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AMENDING THE ZONING PROVISIONS OF
THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE SO AS TO ESTABLISH
A NEW AREA DISTRICT V.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain
SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby find, determine
and declare that the following amendments were duly initiated, that
notice of hearing thereon was duly given and published, that public
hearings thereon were duly held by the Planning Commission and City
Council, and that the public convenience and necessity and the general
welfare require that the following amendments be made.
SECTION 2. Section 9217.7 of the West Covina Municipal
Code is hereby renumbered 9217.8.
SECTION 3. The West Covina Municipal Code is hereby
amended by the addition thereto of a new Section 9217.7 reading as
follows:
"9217.7. SAME. AREA DISTRICT V.
The lot or parcel area required in Area District V
shall be a minimum of forty thousand square feet, and no
lot or parcel shall be less than one hundred thirty feet
in width. In Area District V the area of the dwelling
enclosed within the exterior walls of the main building
shall be not less than sixteen hundred square feet,
exclusive of garages and porches."
SECTION 4. Section 9217.1 of the West Covina Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"9217.1. SAME. BOUNDARIES.
The boundaries of said area districts shall be as shown
by a dash line delineating the boundaries of such districts on
the zoning map."
SECTION 5. Section 9217 of the West Covina Municipal Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
119217. ESTABLISHMENT OF AREA DISTRICTS.
In recognition of the variations in topographical confor-
mation and geographical relationship of portions of the City,
one to the other, and the advantages that can attach to living
conditions including considerations of health, safety and
general welfare and the amenities of living which naturally
relate to the area devoted to residential and related purposes,
there are established the following districts within each of
which minimum lot or parcel areas, width and depths, and minimum
living space area in dwellings are required for all lots within
any "R" Zone . "
• SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required
by law.
