AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AMENDING SECTION 6235.15 OF THE WEST
COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. Section 6235.15 of the West Covina Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"6235•15. VENDING OR SERVICING MACHINE OR DEVICE.
For every vending, merchandising, weighing, washing, drying,
hair drying, locker service or other service or similar machine
or device operated by the insertion of one or more coins, slugs
or tokens by either direct or remote control, whether or not
maintained in conjunction with any other business, but excluding
clothes washing and drying machines, where less than five cents
is required for the operation of such machine or device, the sum
of $2.00 per year or fraction thereof per each such machine or
device, where not less than five cents but less than ten cents
is required for the operation of such machine or device, the sum
of $6.00 per year or fraction thereof per each such machine or
device, and where ten cents or more is required for the operation
of such machine or device, the sum of $12.00 per year or fraction
thereof per each such machine or device; and for customer operated
clothes washing machines and clothes drying machines, (exclusive
of those confined exclusively to the use of the occupants of the
premises upon which they are located) regardless of the amount
required for operation thereof, the sum of $36.00 per year for
each business location plus $1.00 per year per each such machine
in excess of thirty situated at said location."
SECTION 2. Said Section 6235.15 shall be applied and inter-
preted as if the same had read as above amended since December 31, 1960.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law and the
same, relating to taxation, shall be effective from and after the date
of its adoption.

hereby certify that the above Ordinance No. 698 was regularly intro-
duced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City
Council on the 27th day of March , 1961. That, thereafter, said
ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City
Council on the 10th day of April , 1961, by the following vote, to -
wit:
