ORDINANCE NO. 683
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AMENDING CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE
WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE
LICENSING OF VENDING AND AMUSEMENT MACHINES AND
DEVICES.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. Section 6235.10 of the West Covina.Municipal Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
116235.10. GAME OR AMUSEMENT MACHINE OR DEVICE.
For every game or amusement machine or device operated by
the insertion of one or more coins, slugs or tokens by either
direct or remote control, whether or not maintained in conjunction
with any other business, the sum of $6.00 per quarter or fraction
thereof per each such machine or device. Each application for
such a license shall describe the type of machine or device, the
serial number, if any, the name of manufacturer, and the location
where each machine or device is to be operated. Each machine or
device shall bear the name of -the licensee in plain view in
letters of not less than one-fourth inch in height."
SECTION 2. Section 6235.15 of the West Covina Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
116235.15. VENDING OR SERVICING MACHINE OR DEVICE.
For every vending, merchandising, weighing, washing, drying,
hair drying, locker service or other service or similar machine
or device operated by the insertion of one or more coins, slugs
or tokens by either direct or remote control, whether or not
maintained in conjunction with any other business, but excluding
clothes washing and drying machines confined exclusively to the
use of the occupants of the premises upon which they are located,
where less than five cents is required for the operation of such
machine or device, the sum of $2.00 per year or fraction thereof
per each such machine or device, where not less than five cents
but less then ten cents is required for the operation of such
machine or device, the sum of $6.00 per year or fraction thereof
per each such machine or device, and where ten cents or more is
required for the operation of such machine or device, the sum
of $12;00 per year or fraction thereof per each such machine or
device; and for customer operated clothes washing machines and
clothes drying machines, regardless of the amount required for
operation thereof, the sum of $36.00 per year for each business
location Rlus $1.00 per.year per each such machine at said
location.'
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law.

and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City
Council' on the 14th day, of November 1960. That, thereafter, said
ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the
City Council on the 28th day of November , 1960, by the following
vote, to -wit:
