.AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AMENDING CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE
NO. 325 RELATING TO PLACES WHERE DANCING IS PERMITTED.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby find, determine
and declare that the following amendments were duly initiated, that
notice of hearing thereon was duly given and published, that public
hearings thereon were duly held by the Planning Commission and City
Council, and that the public convenience and necessity and the general
welfare require that the following changes and amendments be made. .
SECTION 2. Ordinance No. 325, passed and approved the
28th day of June, 1954, is hereby amended by the addition thereto of
a new Section 215.1 reading as follows:
"SECTION 215.1: CABARET DANCE. "Cabaret Dance" is any
dance or dancing held or engaged in at any place or premises
licensed by the State of California to sell, serve or dispense
intoxicating liquor for consumption in or at such place or
premises."
SECTION 3. Section 900 of said Ordinance No. 325 is hereby
amended by the addition thereto of a new subsection (5) reading as
follows:
"(5) Cabaret dancing incidental to a permitted
restaurant and/or cocktail bar use but not exceeding 500
square feet of usable floor area for dancing in any one
such establishment."
SECTION 4. Subdivision (g) of subsection (5) of Section
1200 of said Ordinance No. 325 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(g) Public Dance Halls, Private Dance Halls commer-
cially operated, Dancing Schools and Dancing.Academies."
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required
by law.
