ORDINANCE NO. 611
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE UNIFORM
PLUMBING CODE, 1958 EDITION, AND PRESCRIBING
PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. A certain document, three copies of which
are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of West Covina,
being marked and designated as Uniform Plumbing Code, 1958 Edition,
is hereby adopted as the Plumbing Code of the City of West Covina for
the protection of the public health and safety, requiring a permit for
the installation or alteration of plumbing, gas, and drainage systems,
creating an administrative office, defining certain terms, establishing
minimum regulations for the installation, alteration or repair of
plumbing, gas and drainage systems and the inspection thereof, and
providing penalties for its violation; and the same is hereby made a
part hereof as if fully set out in this ordinance.
SECTION 2. That portion of said Uniform Plumbing Code
denominated Part Two and found on pages 9a to 12a, inclusive, is hereby
deleted therefrom and is not adopted by this ordinance.
SECTION 3. If any section, sentence, clause or portion
of said code is for any reason invalid or unconstitutional, such
invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity of
the remaining portions of said code.
SECTION 4. No person, firm or corporation shall violate
• or fail to comply with any of the provisions of this ordinance or of
the code adopted by reference herein. Any person, firm or corporation
violating any of the provisions of this ordinance or of the code adopted
hereby shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof, shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $500 or by
imprisonment in the City Jail of the City of West Covina or in the
County Jail of the County of Los Angeles for not more than six months
or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each such person, firm or corpo-
ration shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every
day'or portion thereof during which any such violation is committed,
continued or permitted.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law.

do hereby certify that the above Ordinance No. 611 was regularly
introduced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of
the City Council on the 22nd day of December , 1958. That,
thereafter, said ordinance was duly adopted a-n passed at a regular
meeting of the City Council on the 12th day of January , 1959, by
the following vote, to -wit:
