AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 390 RELATING
TO THE REGULATION OF PUBLIC PARKS.
40 follows: The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
SECTION 1. Subsection a of Section 2 of Ordinance No. 390,
passed and approved the 25th day of April, 1955, is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"-a- To lead or let loose any animal or fowl of any
kind, provided that this shall not apply to dogs or cats
when led by a leash or chain not more than six feet long
and under full control of its owner or custodian."
SECTION 2. Subsections c and d of Section 2 of said Ordi-
nance No. 390 are hereby amended to change the words "Director of
Parks" to read "Director of Recreation and Parks".
SECTION 3. Subsection a of Section 2 of said Ordinance No.
390 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"-e- To possess, carry or discharge any fire arms,
firecrackers, rockets, explosives or any other fireworks,
air gun, bow and arrow, or slingshot."
SECTION 4. Subsection f of Section 2 of said Ordinance No.
390 is hereby amended to read as follows:
• "-f- To throw, project or propel, upon, along or across
any park, public highway or driveway within a park., any missile
capable of causing personal injury or damage to personal property."
SECTION 5. Subsection i of Section 2 of said Ordinance No.
390 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"-i- To park or stand any vehicle, except by special
permission, on any road or path except at places designated
for parking by the Recreation and Park Department."
SECTION 6. Subsection m of Section 2 of said Ordinance No.
390 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"-m- To drive a vehicle in any public park at a speed
greater than is reasonably prudent, and in any event at a
speed in excess of the posted speed per hour.'
SECTION 7. Said Ordinance No. 390 is hereby amended by
the addition thereto of two new sections numbered Section 2.1 and
Section 2.2 reading as follows:
"SECTION 2.1. The Recreation and Park. Director may prohibit
or confine to posted areas, any activity to the extent necessary
so that it will not be detrimental to the health, safety and
welfare of the general public or damaging to the property of
the City of West Covina.
SECTION 2.2. The provisions of this ordinance shall not
be construed to prohibit persons from engaging in organized
recreation activities conducted and scheduled by the City of
West Covina nor to prohibit the City from conducting such
activities.i'

SECTION 8. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law.
