AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA DECREASING THE MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT
UPON A CERTAIN PUBLIC STREET, TO -WIT: VINE
AVENUE, WITHIN THE INCORPORATED LIMITS OF THE
CITYOF WEST COVINA.
follows: The City Council of the City of 'West Covina does ordain as
SECTION 1. It is hereby determined upon the basis of an
engineering and traffic investigation and survey that the speed per-
mitted by State law outside of business and residence districts as
applicable upon the following public street within the incorporated
limits of the City of West Covina is more than is reasonable or safe
under the conditions found to exist upon such street, and it is hereby
determined and declared that the prima facie speed limit shall be as
herein set forth on that street or part of street herein designated,
when appropriate signs are erected giving notice thereof:

SECTION 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating any
of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine not
exceeding Five Hundred Dollars, or by imprisonment in the City Jail or
County Jail of the County of Los Angeles, State of California, for a
period not exceeding six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by
law.
