AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEST COVINA AMENDING CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF
ORDINANCE NO. 325 RELATING TO TEMPORARY USESi,
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. Section 1410.1 of Ordinance No. 325, passed
and approved the 28th day of June, 1954, is hereby amended to read
as follows:.
rrSECTION 1410.1. OTHER TEMPORARY USES. Temporary
carnivals, circuses and recreational, educational, amusement
and entertainment activities, and the sale of fireworks may
be permitted in any zone for not to exceed seven days in any
six months' period and the indoor or outdoor sale of Christmas
trees may be permitted in any zone for not.to exceed twenty-
one days in any one-year period, upon written resolution of
the City Council granting such permit and setting forth any
applicable conditions relating thereto, and any such permit
shall be void unless such conditions are complied with. Such
permits shall be granted by the City Council only after written
application therefor has been filed with the Planning Department,
the Planning Commission has made a report to the City Council,
and the Council has found that such proposed use, under the
conditions imposed, will not have a substantial adverse effect
upon the use or enjoyment of property in the neighborhood of
the proposed use or upon the public safety, health or general
welfare. No formal public hearings need be conducted nor any
notice given by either the Planning Commission or City Council
in connection with the granting of such a permit."
SECTION 2. The City Clerkshall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required
by law.
