AN ORDINANCE -OF THE CITY' CO:UNCIL'OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA FIXING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY NECESSARY'
TO Bk RAISED BY TAXATION FOR THE CURRENT FISCAL
YEAR BEGINNING JULY.1, 1958, DECLARING THE SAME .
TO BE..AN URGENCY MEASURE, AND RECITING THE FACTS
CONSTITUTING .THE URGENCY
The 'City Council of. the City. of West. Covina does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. . The amount of money necessary to be raised by
taxation upon -the taxable property within the City as a revenue to carry on.
the various departments of such. City, for the current- fiscal year beginning
July 1, 1958, and- to pay the bonded or. other indebtedness of such City is
-hereby fixed as follows:
!For -the General Fund for the currying<on of the

For the construction :of facilities for.flood
control .- : ..: : 32, 521.42
For th.e Interest and Sinking.',Fund for Improvement

SECTION 2. Thin ordinance hereby -is declared to be, necessary
for the immediate`preservation of.the.public'peace, health, and safety. The
facts. constituting its urgency are as follows: :This: ordinance is an. integral
part of the procedure for -fixing the city tax rates to raise money for the opera.
tion of the p6lic:e department, .lire department and other city departments;;
said procedure is -required bylaw to.be completed by September first; the assessed;
values of taxable property are necessary to the establishment of the figures set
1or.th in this ordinance;.:and said assessed values.. were not.-availabie `from the,
County of Los Angeles in 'sufficient. time to permit, this ordinance to be' —adopted..,
-.before September!- 1958, 'except as an urgency measure.
SECTION,3. The: City', Clerk shall certify to_the passage of .this
ordinance and ,shall cause the'same to,`be .publis.he.d as required by law, and, the
same shall be .in full force and effect immediately upon passage.
