AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO.
1,71 REGULATING THE LICENSING OF DOGS.
follows: The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
SECTION 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 171 of the
City of West Covina adopted June 22, 1949, be and the same is hereby
amended so as to read as follows:
`SECTION 2. Every person, firm or corporation keeping,
harboring or having within the City of West Covina any dog
over the age of four months shall, within thirty days after
said dog attains the age of four months or after first
bringing said dog into the City of West Covina, obtain for
said dog and thereafter continuously maintain for said dog
a current and valid dog license issued by the City of West
Covina, and shall comply with the vaccination provisions of
Ordinance No. 480 of the City of West Covina.
Each dog license issued by the City shall be -annual .
from July 1 to June 30 of the next succeeding year; but shall
be considered current and valid for an additional period of,
thirty days if a renewal license for the next year is obtained
within said period.
A fee shall be paid for each such license in advance
at time of issuance in the sum of $3.00 per year or any
fraction thereof.
The licensing functions:: and duties imposed by this
ordinance on the Chief of Police may be performed by the
contract pound service or by the City Clerk.`
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law.
