• AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA BEING A TEMPORARY INTERIM ZONING
ORDINANCE AFFECTING A PORTION OF SOUTHERLY
ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 158.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby find and determine
that certain new territory may be annexed to the City of West Covina
pursuant to certain annexation proceedings now pending and khown as
West Covina Southerly Annexation District No. 158.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to the authority of Section 65806 of
the Government Code, the following described territory included within
said Southerly Annexation District No. 158 is hereby placed and included
within the M (Manufacturing) Zone, as described in Ordinance No. 325,
as amended, effective as of the effective date of said annexation, and
to continue until altered or changed in the manner provided by law or
ordinance, and all uses in conflict with said zoning are hereby pro-
hibited, to -wit:
Lots 53 through 66, inclusive, of the Forster
and Rowland Tract, Sheet 2, as recorded in Book
20 at Pages 14 and 15 of Miscellaneous Records
on file in the Office of the County Recorder,'
County of Los Angeles, State of California, and
Lot 2 of W. R. Rowland's Subdivision as recorded
in Book 42 at Pages 79 and 80 of Maps in the
Office of the County Recorder, County of Los
Angeles, State of California.
SECTION 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to'be an
urgency measure necessary to protect the public safety, health and
welfare. The facts constituting its urgency are those facts hepetof ore
stated in this ordinance and the fact that said area should be properly
• zoned prior to the effective date of annexation in order to prohibit
unwanted and undesirable uses and to provide zoning restrictions which
shall be effective immediately upon annexation.
SECTION 4. Any person, firm or corporation violating any
of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misde-
meanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable by a fine of

not more -than $500.00 or by imprisonment in the City Jail or in the
County Jail of the County of Los Angeles for a period of not more than
six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law.
