AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
14EST COVINA RELATING TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION
AND REPEALING ORDINANCES NO. 136, 209 AND 436.
The City Council of the City of nest Covina does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. A Planning Commission for the City of West
Covina is hereby created.
• SECTION 2. The Planning Commission shall consist of five
members who shall be qualified electors of the City of West Covina
but who shall not be officers of said City.
SECTION 3. The Planning Commission is created pursuant
to and shall be subject to the provisions of Chapter 3 of Title 7 of
the Government Code of the State of California.
SECTION 4. The terms of office of the members of the
Planning Commission shall expire on the following dates and each four
years thereafter: One on June 30, 1958, one on June 30, 1959, one
on June 30; 1960, and two on June 30, 1961. Each member shall hold
office after the expiration of his term and until his successor is
appointed and qualified.
SECTION 5. The foregoing sections of this ordinance shall
be effective as of July 1, 1957. On that date the terms of office of
all present members of the Planning Commission shall terminate, and
the members of the Planning Commission shall be reappointed for the
respective terms specified herein.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law.
