ORDINANCE NO.493
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE N0.147 OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, AND CHANGING THE ZONING MAP
ATTACHED THERETO AND MADE A PART THEREOF (Public Property) .
THE CITY COUNCIL OF` THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No.147 of the City of West
Covina, entitled 'BAN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING ZONES IN THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, AND THEREIN REGULATING THE USE OF LANDS, HEIGHT OF
BUILDINGS AND YARD SPACES; ADOPTING A MAP SHOWING THE BOUNDARIES OF
SAID ZONES; DEFINING THE TERMS USED IN THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR
ITS ADJUSTMENT, AMENDMENT AND ENFORCEMENT; PRESCRIBING PENALTIES
FOR VIOLATIONS AND REPEALING ORDINANCES OR PORTIONS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT THEREWITH", adopted February 5, 1948, as amended, be
and the same is hereby further amended by adding thereto, as a part
of the Zoning Map of the City of West Covina, the following:
(A) CIVIC CENTER- On the south side of Garvey Avenue,
between Sunset and Orange Avenues.
(B) CALIFORNIA AVENUE CITY YARD- On the Northwest side
of California Avenue, near Cameron
Avenue.
(C) SUNSET AVENUE CITY YARD- On the northwest side of
Sunset Avenue, near the future
extension of Cameron Avenue and
Walnut Creek Nash.
(D) POLICE DEPARTMENT HEADQUARTERS- On the north side
of Garvey Avenue, between Willow and
Sunkist Avenues.
(E) DEL NORTE PARK- on the south side of Rowland Avenue,
east of Nora Avenue.
(F) CAMERON PARK- At the northwest corner of Cameron
and Lark Ellen Avenues.
(G) CORTEZ-PARK- On the north side of Cortez Street,
between Citrus Street and Montezume

(H) A PARK SITE (Comida Park)- On the north side of
Puente Avenue, near Lark Ellen Avenue.
be and the same are hereby excepted from the particular zone in
which such real property has otherwise been placed and designated
by the provisions of the said ordinance and the zoning map which
is a part thereof, and all such property and territory is hereby
reclassified in accordance with the provisions of said Ordinance
No.147, as amended, so as to establish the real property aforesaid
as a part of Zone P-B (Public Buildings Zone).
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days
from,the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be published once
in the West Covina Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation
published and circulated in the City of West Covina, and thirty (30)
days from and after the final passage thereof said Ordinance shall
take effect and be in force.

I I1EREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted
• at,a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of West Covina,
held on the 24th day of September,1956, by the affirmative vote of
at least three Councilmen, to wit:
