AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,CALIF-
ORNIA, FIXING THE.AMOUNT OF MONEY NECESSARY TO..BE RAISED.BY TAXATION
UPON THE -TAXABLE PROPERTY THEREIN AS REVENUE.TO.CARRY ON THE.VARIOUS
DEPARTMENTS OF.SAID CITY FOR THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR 1956-1957 AND
TO PAY THE BONDED .AND OTHER INDEBTEDNESS THEREOF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of 'West Covina,
State of California, does hereby fix the amount of money at the sum
of Three Hundred Fifty -Five Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty -Eight and
72A OO Dollars ($355,758.72) necessary to be raised by taxation upon
the taxable property in said City of West Covina as revenue to carry
on the various departments of said City for the current fiscal year
beginning July 1, 1956, and to pay for the bonded and other indebted-
ness of such municipal corporation for said fiscal year.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk of the City of West Covina shall
certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and prior to the expiration
of fifteen (15) days from th-e passage thereof, shall cause the same
to be published once in the West Covina Tribune, a newspaper of general
circulation published and circulated in the City of West Covina.
This Ordinance, inasmuch as it provides for a tax levy for
the usual current expense of the City of West Covina, under the pro-
visions of Section 1 of Article IV of the Constitution, and the
provisions of Section 36937 of the Government Code of the State of
California, shall take effect immediately.
