AN ORDINANCE OF TIME CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF -1mMST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.325 OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
KNOWN AS THE "COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE", BY ADDING A NEW
ARTICLE THERETO TO BE KNOWN AS AND NUNBERIED ARTICLE 11A (Section
110 5) , CREATING A NEW ZONE DL O�KINATED ZONE P-B , A PUBLIC PURPOSE
ZONE, AND BY ADDING A NEW SECTION THERETO TO BE KNOWN AS AND
NUMBERED SECTION 1401A .
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No.325 of the City of West
Covina, entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.147 BEING AN
ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING ZONES IN THE CITY OF WEST COVINA AND THEREIN
REGULATING THE USE OF LAND, HEIGHT OF BUILDINGS, AREA OF LOTS AND
PARCELS AND YARD SPACES; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF MAPS SHOWING
THE BOUNDARIES OF SAID ZONES; DEFINING THE TERMS USED IN THIS
ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR ITS ADJUSTI,ENT, AMENDMENTT AND ENFORCM1ENT;
PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION; REPEALING ORDINANCES OR PORTIONS
OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THERE'}JITIi", adopted June 28, 1954, be and
the same is hereby amended by adding thereto a new Article to be
known as and denominated "Article 11A- PUBLIC PURPOSE ZONE" and to
read as follows:
Article 11A It
P-B - PUBLIC PURPOSE ZONE (P-B Zone)
Section 1105: PERMITTED USES. In a P-B zone no building
or land shall be used and no building shall be erected or
structurally altered, except for the following uses:
(1) Publicly owned and operated establishments or
enterprises, excluding streets and highways but including:
(a) Public parks.
(b) Public playgrounds.
(c) Public administrative buildings.
(d) Civic centers.
(e) Utilities publicly owned and operated.
(f) Accessory buildings and uses incident to any
of the permitted uses in this zone.
(g) Any similar public enterprise not here enumerated
when so determined in pursuance of the provisions
of Section 1403 of this ordinance. t+

SECTION 2. That said Ordinance No.325 be and the same
is hereby further amended by adding a new section thereto to
be known as and numbered Section 1401A and to read as follows:

'P Section 1401A.' That the zoning designation
shown herein shall be considered to and shall
extend to the center line of contiguous public
streets, lanes, drives, and alleys, as well as
rights -of -way of the California Division of High-
ways, for highway purposes, and rights -of -way of
the Los Angeles County Flood Control District,
for washes and similar drainage courses. 11
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15)
days from the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be published
once in the West Covina Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation
published and circulated in the City of West Covina, and thirty
(30) days from and after the final passage thereof said ordinance
shall take effect and be in force.
