AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, I+iAKING IT.UNLAWFUL_FOR ANY PERSON TO WILFULLY GIVE
ANY FALSE OR UNFOUNDED INFORMATION TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR
THE PURPOSE OF HINDERING OR DELAYING AN.INVESTIGATION,.AND MAKING
THE VIOLATION OF . THIS ORDINANCE A MISDINEANOR, PUNISHABLE .BY FINE
OR IMPRISONMhWT IN THE CITY OR COUNTY JAIL, OR BOTH SUCH FINE AND
IMPRISONMENT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly
and wilfully furnish, give or make a false, misleading or unfounded
report to the Police Department of the City of West Covina., for the
purpose of interfering with proper operation of the Police Department
or any of its officers, or both.
SECTION 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of
this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a, misdemeanor and upon
conviction thereof; shall be punishable by a fine of not exceeding
$500.00, or by imprisonment in the City or County Jail not exceeding
six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days
from the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be published once
in the West Covina Tribune, a, newspaper of general circulation
. published and circulated in the City of West Covina, and thirty (30)
days from and after the final passage thereof said Ordinance shall
take effect and be in force.
