AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA AMENDING
SECTION 51 OF ORDINANCE NO.365 OF SAID CITY REGULATING THE; CONSTRUCTION
AND USE OF SEW0ZS .
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Section 51 of Ordinance No.365 of the City
of West Covina. entitled "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE DESIGN, CONS-
TRUCTION, ALTERATION, USE AND MAINTENANCE OF PUBLIC AND HOUSE CONNECTION
SEWERS; INDUSTRIAL CONNECTION SEWERS, SEWAGE PUMPING PLANTS, INDUS-
TRIAL LIQUID WASTER PRE-TREATMENT PLANTS, DAIRY SCREIENT CHAMBERS, SAND
AND GREASE INTERCEPTORS, SAND INTERCEPTORS, GREASE INTERCEPTORS, AND
APPURTENANCES; THE ABANDONMENT OF SEPTIC TANKS, CESSPOOLS, SEEPAGE
HOLES, AND DRY PITS; THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND THE COLLECTION OF
FEES THEREFOR, INCLUDING THE FEES TO PAY THE COST OF CHECKING PLANS,
INSPECTING THE CONSTRUCTION, AND MAKING RECORD PLANS OF THE FACILITIES
PERMITTED HEREUNDER; THE MAKING OF DEPOSITS TO ASSURE FAITHFUL PER-
FORMANCE OF WORK PERMITTED HEREUNDER; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION
OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS THEREOF, AND DECLARING THE URGENCY HEREOF,
TO TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY", adopted December 13, 1954, be and the
same is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
It S.ECTION 51.. 07%.'CEPTIONS. Trunk sewers, under the
jurisdiction of a County Sanitation District, are
exempted from all of the provisions of this ordinance
except when, in the opinion of the City Council,
the public interest and public welfare and the
benefit to the City of West Covina from any trunk
sewer is sufficient, in the opinion of the City
Council, to justify such action, the City Council
may transfer or assign to a County Sanitation District

the right of the City under this Ordinance to
make and collect the connection charges provided
for in Section 77 of this Ordinance into, along

or in front of any such trunk sewer or portion
thereof".
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days
from the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be published once
in the West Covina Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation
published and circulated in the City of 'West Covina, and thirty (30)
days from and after the final passage thereof said Ordinance shall
take effect and be in force.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of West Covina,
held on the 14th day of Noveinb.er,1955, by the affirmative vote of at
