AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE.AMOUNT OF MONEY NECESSARY TO BE RAISED BY
TAhATION UPON THE TAXABLE PROPERTY THEREIN AS REVENUE TO CARRY ON
THE VARIOUS DEPARTKENTS.OF SAID CITY FOR THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR
1955-1956 AND TO PAY THE BONDED AND OTHER INDEBTEDNESS THEREOF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of West
Covina, State of California, does hereby fix the amount of money
• at the sum of One Hundred Sixty Nine Thousand Five Hundred Forty-two
and 40/100 Dollars ($169,542.40) necessary to be raised by taxation
upon the taxable property in said City of West Covina as revenue
to carry on the various departments of said City for the current
fiscal year beginning July 1, 1955, and to pay for the bonded and,
other indebtedness of such municipal corporation for said fiscal
year.
SECTION 2. The City C1erk.of the City of West Covina -
shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and prior to the
expiration of fifteen (15) days from the passage thereof, shall
cause the same to be published once in the West Covina Tribune, a
newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the
City of West Covina, This Ordinance, inasmuch as it provides for
a tax levy for the usual current expense of the City of West Covina,
under the provisions of Section 1 of Article IV of the Constitution,
and the provisions of Section 36937 of the Government Code of the
State of California, shall take effect immediately.
