Ordinance - 4099 ORDINANCE NO.409 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.103 OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, KNOWN AS THE TRAFFIC ORDINANCE BY ADDING TWO NEW SECTIONS TO ARTICLE IX THEREOF TO BE KNOWN AS AND NUMBERED SECTIONS 3-I AND 3-J AND PROVIDING.FOR ONE-WAY STREETS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No.103 of the City of West • Covina, entitled"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,CALIFORNIA, MAKING CERTAIN PROVISIONS RELATING TO PUBLIC STREETS AND PUBLIC PLA C EWITHIN SAID CITY; REGULATING TRAFFIC IN AND UPON SUCH PUBLIC STREETS AND PLACES, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH", adopted July 13, 1944, be and the same is hereby amended by adding to Article IX thereof two new sections to be known as and numbered sections 3-I and 3-J and to read as follows: "SECTION 3-I. Whenever any ordinance or resolution of this City designates any one-way street or alley, the Traffic Authority shall place and maintain signs giving notice thereof, and no such regulations shall be effective unless such signs are in place. Signs indicating the direction of lawful traffic movement shall be placed at every intersection where movement of traffic in the opposite direction is prohibited. When signs are erected on any one-way street or alley, giving notice thereof, no person shall drive any vehicle in a direction contrary thereto. -1- "SECTION 3-J. One -Way Streets: In accordance with Section 3-I, and when properly sign -posted, traffic shall move only in the direction indicated upon the following Streets: The northerly and southerly drives or roadways of Rowland Avenue, between Lark Ellen Avenue and the easterly boundary line of the City of West Covina. 11 SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be published once in the West Covina Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the City of West Covina, and thirty (30) days from and after the final passage thereof said Ordinance shall take effect and be in force.
