AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA.,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE.N0.147.9KNOWN AS.THE ZONING ORDINANCE
AND.TH`E LAND USE.PLAN THEREBY ADOPTED, BY.ELIh.fINATING THEREFROM
CERTAIN POTENTIAL COMMERCIAL ZONING.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA"DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, Ordinance No.147 of the City of West
Covina, known as the Zoning Ordinance, as amended, classifies certain
properties described as the area located on Sunset Avenue between
• Francisquito Avenue and .Merced Avenue, in the City of West Covina,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, as Zone R-A, with
potential commercial classifications as defined by the provisions of
said Ordinance No.147, and particularly Section 14, paragraph A,
subparagraph (1), item (3) thereof; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of West
Covina has caused to be prepared a plan for the development of the
above described area to encourage the proper utilization of such
properties; and
IiUMREA.S, the said Planning Commission did on October 4,
1954, conduct a duly advertised public hearing as prescribed by law
and duly considered said plan; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No.204 the said Planning Commission
on October 4th 1954, approved said plan as revised and recommended
to the City Council the revision thereof by the elimination.there-
from of the potential commercial zoning thereon; and
'WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Covina did
on October 25, 1954, hold and conduct a duly advertised public
hearing as prescribed by law and considered said revised plan thereat
and duly adopted said plan:

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West
Covina does ordain as follows: That that certain plan for the
development of the real property located as aforesaid, heretofore
approved and adopted by the City Planning Commission and by the
City Council, as aforesaid, be and the same is hereby adopted as
an Official plan, under and pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance
No.147 of the City of Nest Covina, for the said area, eliminating
therefrom the potential commercial zoning heretofore indicated to
apply to said area, upon condition that such potential commercial
zoning be replaced by similar zoning at another location to be
selected and approved by the City Council in the same general area.
That the aforementioned real property shall be and is hereby
reclassified as Zone R-A under the provisions of said Ordinance
No.147, as amended.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days
from the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be posted with
the names of the members voting for and against the same, in three
public places within the City in the manner required by the laws
and ordinances in the City of Jest Covina, and thirty (30) days
from and after the final passage thereof said Ordinance shall take
effect and be in f- ---

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
'nest Covina, held on the 22nd day of November, 1954, by the
affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit:

to.wit: One at the Police Office, 1444 West Garvey Boulevard, one
in front of the West Covina School House, and one at the northwest
corner of Puente Street and Lark 7,11en Bou rd.
