AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 28 (61).OF ORDINANCE NO.142.OF THE
CITY OF WEST COVINA, KNOWN AS THE BUSINESS.LICENSE ORDINANCE..
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA-DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Section 28 (61) of Ordinance N0.142 of the
City of West Covina, entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING OF WHOLESALE AND RETAIL BUSINESS,
• TRADES, AND OCCUPATIONS CARRIED ON IN SAID CITY AND REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH", adopted and approved June 11, 1947,
be and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
"SECTION 28 (61). WHOLESALE AND RETAIL DELIVERY TRUCKS:
For every person conducting, managing.or carrying on the
business of delivering wholesale or retail orders of
goods, wares or merchandise in the City of West Covina;
and every person, who, in conjunction with the business
in which such person is engaged, runs, drives or operates,
and every person engaged in the business of running,
driving or operating, for hire or otherwise, any wheeled
vehicle for the purpose of hauling, peddling, distributing,
selling, receiving or delivering, and who actually hauls,
peddles,distributes, sells,receives or delivers within
the City, for resale or otherwise, personal property of any
kind, nature or description, unless otherwise herein pro-
vided, shall pay a license of Six Dollars ($6.00) for six
(6) months for the period of January 191955, to June 30,
1955, only and Twelve*Dollars.($12.00) per annum thereafter
for each vehicle so run, driven.or operated or used for
such deliveries in the City of 'West Covina; provided, that
the provisions of this paragraph, unless otherwise in this
Ordinance provided, shall not apply to any person having
• a fixed place of business -within the City which has been
licensed under this Ordinance, and in the usual course of
business uses a vehicle or vehicles for the delivery of
personal property which has been sold from said place of
business."
SECTION 2. That this Ordinance shall take full force and
effect as of December 31, 1954, at midnight, and before the expiration
of fifteen (15) days after its passage it shall be posted with the

names of the members voting for and against the same, in three
places within the City, in the manner required by the laws and

said Council on the 25th day of October, 1954, and signed by the
Mayor of said City, and that said Ordinance was adopted by the
