ORDINANCE NO.338
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.147 OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
AND THE ZONING MAP THEREUNDER SO AS TO ESTABLISH CERTAIN.PROPERTIES
IN .SAID CITY IN ZONE. R-l.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 147 of the City of West
Covina, known as the Zoning Ordinance, classifies certain properties
described as follows:

as Zone R-A, with potential residential classifications as shown and
indicated upon the Zoning Xap adopted thereunder and as defined by
the provisions of said.Ordinance No.147; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did on July 19,1954,
and on August 2, 1954, conduct duly advertised public hearings as
prescribed by law and duly considered the amendment of said Ordinance

and Zoning Map by the reclassification of said properties into
Zone R-1 (One Family Zone) as in said Ordinance No.147 defined;
and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No.186 the said Planning Commission
on August 2,1954, approved such amendments and recommended to the
City Council the adoption thereof; and
WHER4AS, the City Council of the City of 'West Covina did
on August 23, 1954, hold and conduct a duly advertised public hearing
as prescribed by law and considered said amendments thereat and
duly adopted said recommendations of the City Planning Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina
does -ordain as follows:
That Ordinance No.147 of the City of West Covina, known
as the Zoning Ordinance, adopted January 21, 1948, as amended, and
the Zoning Map adopted thereby, be and the same are hereby amended
by changing the Zoning (R-A Zone) heretofore applied to the several
properties hereinabove described and enumerated and all such properties
are hereby reclassified and established as a part of Zone R-1 under
the provisions of said Ordinance No.147, and the Zoning Map shall
• be amended so as to indicate thereon that all such real property and
territory has been hereby established as a part of said Zone R-1
thereunder.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance, and_prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days
from the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be posted with the
names of the members voting for and against the same in three places

within the City, in the manner required by the laws and ordinances
in the City of West Covina, and thirty (30) days from- and after the
passage thereof said Ordinance shall take effect and be in force.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of West Covina,
held on the 27th day of September, 1954, by the affirmative vote of
at least three Councilmen, to wit:
