AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF V,iEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.147 OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA AND THE ZONING MAP THEREUNDER SO AS TO ESTABLISH CERTAIN
PROPERTIES IN SAID CITY IN.ZONE R-A.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, Ordinance No.1ZL7 of the City of West
Covina, known as the Zoning Ordinance, classifies certain properties
described as areas located at (1) Citrus Street between Cortez Street
• and Cameron Avenue, (2) the intersection of Vine Avenue and Azusa
Avenue, (3) the intersection of Merced Avenue and Valinda Avenue,
and (4) the intersection of Lark Ellen Avenue and Garvey Boulevard,
as Zone R-A, with potential commercial classifications as shown
and indicated upon the Zoning Map adopted thereunder and as
defined by the provisions of said Ordinance No.147; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did on March 15,1954,
and on April 5, 1954, conduct duly advertised public hearings as
prescribed by law and duly considered the amendment of said
Ordinance and Zoning Map by the elimination of said potential
commercial classifications; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No.154 the said Planning Commission
on April 5, 19%, approved such amendments and recommended to
' the City Council the adoption thereof; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Covina did on
April 26, 1954, hold and conduct a duly advertised public heaping
as prescribed by law and considered said amendments thereat and
duly adopted said recommendations of the City Planning Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina
does ordain as follows:

That Ordinance No.147 of the City of West Covina,known
as the Zoning Ordinance, adopted January 21, 1948, and the
Zoning Map adopted thereby, be and the same are hereby amended
by eliminating therefrom -the potential commercial classifications
heretofore applied to the several properties hereinabove described
and enumerated and all such properties are hereby established as
• a part of Zone R-A under the provisions of said Ordinance No.147,
and the Zoning Map shall be amended so as to indicate thereon that
all such real property and territory has been hereby established
as a part of said Zone R-A thereunder.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Ordinance, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days
from the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be posted with
the names of the members voting for and against the same in three
places within the City, in the manner required by the laws and
ordinances in the City of West Covina, and thirty (30) days from
and after the passage thereof said Ordinance shall take effect
and be in force.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of West Covina,
held on the 24th day of May,1954, by the affirmative vote of at
least three Councilmen, to wit:

ORDINANCE NO.147 Oi-'THE CITY OF WEST COVINA AND THE ZONING MAP
THEREUNDER SO AS TO ESTABLISH.CERTAIN PROPERTIES IN SAID CITY IN
ZONE R-A", in three public places in said City, to wit: One at the
Police Office, 1444 West Garvey Boulevard, one in front of the
West Covina School House, and one at the northwest corner of Puente
• Street and Lark Ellen Boulevard.
