CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ARTICLE V AND SECTION 12
OF ARTICLE VII OF ORDINANCE NO.103 OF TIM CITY OF I-TPST COVINA)

TO RE DESIGNATE AS SECTION 8 OF ARTICLE IJI , AND IREPEALING
ORDINANCE NO.106 OF SAID CITY.
THE; CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS.
SECTION 1. That Section 3 of Article V of Ordinance No.103
• of the City of West Covina, entitled "An Ordinance of the City of
West Covina, California, making certain provisions relating to
public streets and public places within said City; regulating traffic
in and upon such public streets and places, and repealing all
ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith", adopted
July 13, 1944, be and the same is hereby amended so as to read
as follows:
"SECTION 3. When a stop sign is erected and in place as
herein provided at or near the entrance to any through
street or highway, every driver or operator of a vehicle
and every motorman or operator of a street or interurban
car shall stop such vehicle or car at or near the entrance
to such through street or highway before entering the
• same, except when directed to proceed by a police, highway
or traffic officer or traffic control signal.
SCHEDULE OF STOP INTERSECTIONS AND STOP ENTRANCES:
All entrances to the following through streets and
highways, to wit: Garvey Boulevard, Barranca Street, Citrus
Street, Hollenbeck Street, Willow Avenue, Puente Avenue,
Ramona Boulevard, Azusa Avenue, Lark Ellen Avenue, Vincent
Avenue, Irwindale Avenue, Sunset Avenue, Root Avenue,

Pacific Avenue, Cameron Avenue, Merced Avenue, Francisquito
Avenue, Valinda Avenue, Glendora Avenue, Orange Avenue,
Workman Avenue, California Avenue and Vine Avenue."
SECTION 2. That Section 12 of .Article VII of said Ordinance
N0.103 of the City of West Covina be and the same is hereby amended
• so as to read as follows:
"Section 12. LIGHT TPILPFIC STREETS. That the following
streets or portions thereof .are hereby designated and
established as light traffic streets within said City,
to wit: MacDevitt Street, Cedarwood Street, Havenbrook
Street, Willow Avenue between the intersections therewith
of Yarnell Street and Pacific Avenue, Meeker Avenue
between the intersection therewith of Garvey Boulevard
and the southerly terminus of said Meeker Avenue, Sunkist
Avenue, Elder Street, Leewood Street, Fobindale Street,
Roseway Street, Sherway Street, Orange Avenue between the
intersections therewith of Francisquito Avenue and E1 1211onte
Street, Sunset Avenue, Irwindale Avenue, Workman Avenue
between the intersections therewith of Orange Avenue and
Azusa Avenue, Grovecenter Street, Root Avenue between the
intersections therewith of Orange Avenue and Puente Avenue,
Swanee Lane, Morris Avenue, La Sena Avenue, Chalburn Avenue,
Thelborn Street, Pacific Lane, California Avenue, Vincent
Avenue, Lark Ellen Avenue, Idahome Street, Shamwood Street,
mardina Street, Stuart Avenue, Holly Oak Drive, Walnut
Creek ParkEvay, Larkwood Street, Charlinda Street, Barbara

Avenue, Thackery Street, Thackery Avenue, Portner
Street, Hichelle Street,XcWood Street, Bayman Avenue,
Fleetwell Avenue, Hollenbeck Street between the
intersections therewith of Vine Avenue and Mardina
Street, Shasta Street, Montezuma Way, Citrus Street
• between the intersections therewith of Cameron Avenue
and Garvey Boulevard, Barranca Street between the
intersections therewith of Cortez Street and Garvey
Boulevard, Holt Avenue, 1S,TcNutt Drive between the
.intersections therewith of Miriam Drive and Garvey
Boulevard, Sharonlee Street and Russelee Street."
SECTION 3. That Article III of said Ordinance No.103 be
and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section
to be known as and numbered Section 8 and to read as follows:
"SECTIONS. No driver shall drive a vehicle at a
speed greater than 25 miles per hour on the following
streets or thoroughfares or portions thereof in the
City of West Covina, when appropriate signs are erected
• giving notice thereof, to wit:
Havenbrook Street
Cedarwood Street
XacDevitt Street
Pacific Avenue,between Garvey Boulevard and Leland Avenue
Willow Avenue, between pierced Avenue and Pacific Avenue
Meeker Avenue
Sunkist Avenue,between Meeker Avenue and Garvey Boulevard

Orange Avenue, between Merced Avenue and Grovecenter Street
Morris Avenue
Irwindale Avenue,between Garvey Boulevard and the westerly
extension of Lowland Avenue
Walnuthaven Drive
• Idahome Street
Shamwood Street
Nardina Street
Stuart Avenue
Cherrywood Street
Barbara Avenue
Thackery Avenue, east of the intersection therewith of
Lark Ellen Avenue
Vine Avenue, between Valir_da Avenue and Azusa Avenue
That certain alley and thoroughfare in Tract No.14631
in the City of West Covina and lying between Glendora
Avenue and Bubbling Well Avenue."
SECTION 4. That Ordinance No.106 of the City of West Covina
• entitled "An Ordinance amending Ordinance No.103 of the City of
Nest Covina limiting the speed of motor vehicles on certain City
streets in the residential section", adopted February 14,1945,
be and the same is hereby repealed.
SECTION 5.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Ordinance, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days
from the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be posted with
the naives of the members voting for and against the same in
three places within the City, and thirty (30) days from and after

the final passage thereof said Ordinance shall take effect
and be in force in the planner required by the laws and
ordinances in the City of West Covina.

at a regular meetiing of the City Council of the City of West

TRAFFIC ORDINANCE, ADDING A NEW SECTION THERETO TO BE DESIGNATED AS SECTION
8 OF ARTICLE VI, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 106 OF SAID CITY," in three
public places in said City, to wit: One at the Police Office, 1444 West
Garvey Boulevard, one in front of the West Covina School House, and one at
the northwest corner of Puente Street and Lar. len Boulevard.
