';!JEST COVINA APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO, INCORPORATING IN .AND 1,4AKING A PART OF SAID CITY OF ';TEST COVINA CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY OUTSIDE ., OF SAID CITY AND CONTIGUOUS THERETO', KNMl N AS, 1;'V`EST COVINA ANNEXATION NO. 101. vMEREAS, the~:.City Council of , the City of West Covina did on the 14th day of December., 1949, receive a. verified. written petition signed by not less than one- fourth-. of -the owners of the area of land representing not less than one-fourth of the assessed value of such, territory according to the last preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of Los Angeles; and, LO WHEREAS, the City Council did at a regular meeting held on the 14th day of December, 1949, adopt a resolution. giving notice of such proposed annexation, which resolution specifically described the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Nest Covina, designating the same as "Jest Covina Annexation No. 101.,. and WHEREAS, said Resolution was duly published according to law, by posting a copy of the said Resolution in. three: conspicuous places in the said territory, giving notice of the: day and hour and place when and where any person owning real property within. said territory so proposed to be annexed. and having any objections to the proposed annexation, might appear before the City Council of the City of West -Covina and show cause why such territory should not be annexed; and ''JHEREAS':, the City Council of the City of - TTest Covina set the date of such hearing not less than 15, nor more than 40 days from the date of the passage of - such Resolution, to wit: the llth day of January, 1950; and 'd�''HEREAS, on the llth day of January, 1950, said matter duly came before the City Council of the City of `Jest Covina for hearing, and "no persons, filed against the proposed annexation, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of ';rest Covina do ordain as follows: -1- • Section 1. That the annexation to the said City of '-:,lest Covina of the territory hereinafter described, the description of which is set forth in the verified written petition to the City of vilest Covina- dated the 13t h day of December, 1949, and designated in the Resolution and notice of said City f. Council as;15est Covina Annexation No. 101, be and the same is, and that the territory hereinafter des- cribed be, and the same is, hereby annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the City of West Covina.. Section 2. That the territory hereinbefore referred to and which is hereby annexed to, made a part of, and incoporated in the City of �"Test Covina, is more particularly described as follows: Lot 10, except the_ northwesterly S-1 feet thereof, and Lots 11 and 12, except the northwesterly 20 feet of each of said lots, all in Tract No. 13721 as per hiap recorded in Book 273, Pages 48, 49, and 50 of Maps, records of Los Angeles County, State of California. Section 3.. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty days after the date of its adoption, and prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage thereof shall be posted:_w th._the'names of the members voting for and against the same, in three places within the city, in the manner required by the laws and ordinances of the City of !,Vest Covina.
