AN ORDINANCE AMEI'IDING SECTION 3.1 OF ORDINANCE
ISO. 147 CHANGING THIE ZONING PAP OF THE CITY OF
'.JEST COVINA
The City Council of the City of West Covina do ordain as
follows:
Section 1: Section 3.1 of Ordinance No. 147, entitled
"AN ORDINANCE ESTABLI � TING ZONES IN THE CITY OF `NEST COVINA,
AND THEREIN REGULATING T_T-iE USE OF LAND, HEIGHT OF BUILDINGS,

OR PORTIONS OF ORDINANCES IN CON7LICT TI-1EREWITH", Adopted
January 21, 1948, is hereby amended by adding thereto, as
a part of the Zoning Map of the City of West Covina, Sub-
section (4) of Section 3.1, to read as follows:
• 3.1 Changes in the boundaries and classifications of
the Zoning Map of the City of West Covina:,
(�) Each respective portion of the territory shown
on the map hereinafter in this subsection set forth be, and
the same is, hereby excepted from the particular zone in
which such respective portion thereof has otherwise been
placed and d_.signated by the provisions of.this section,
and each such respective portion of said territory is here-
by placed in and granted a variance for C-1 uses upon the
following conditions:
(1) That curbs and gutters shall be installed accord-
ing to the specifications of the City of ,"nest Covina on and
along such portion of the subject property as abutts Orange
• Avenue.
(2) That an automobile parking area be provided, and for
that purpose there shall be at least one parking space (as
set forth in Section 14 of Ordinance 147 of"the City of rest
Covina) for each 500 square feet of gross floor area of such
buildings or structures as may be erected upon the subject
property, ;provided, that no such portion of such territory
shall be deemed to be so excepted from any such zone unless
a zone designation is placed within the boundaries of such
territory as shown on said map.

Section 2: This Ordinance shall take effect thirty days
after the date of its adoption, and prior to the expiration
of fifteen days from the passage hereof shall be published
once in the C'Vest Covina Tribune, a newspaper printed and pub-
lished in the City of '."lest Covina, County of Los Angeles,
State of California.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council
of said City held on the 10 day of August, 1949, and fin-
ally adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of
said Council held on the24 day of August 1949,
