AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3.1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 147
CHANGING THE ZONING FLAP OF THE CITY OF vIEST COVINA
The City Council of the City of West Covina do ordain as
follows:
Section 1. Section 3.1 of Ordinance No. 147, entitled
"AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING ZONES IN THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
AND THEREIN REGULATING THE USE OF LAND, HEIGHT OF BUILDINGS,
AND YARD SPACES: ADOPTING A MAP SHOWING THE BOUNDARIES OF
SAID ZONES: DEFINING THE TERMS USED IN THIS ORDINANCE: PRO-
VIDING FOR ITS ADJUSTMENT, AMENDMENT AND ENFORCEMENT: PRE-
SCRIBING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES
OR PORTIONS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT TIEREut1ITH", Adopted
January 21, 1948, is hereby amended by adding thereto, as a
part of the Zoning Map of the City of `Nest Covina, Subsection
(f) of Section 3.1, to read as follows:
3.1 Changes in the boundaries and classifications of the
Zoning Map of the City of West Covina:
(f) Each respective portion of the territory shown on
the map hereinafter set forth in this subsection be, and the
same is, hereby excepted from the particular zone in which
such respective portion thereof has otherwise been placed and
designated by the provisions of this Ordinance, and each such
respective portion of said territory is hereby granted a var-
iance to be used as a recreational center in conjunction with
school activities and non-commercial public park purposes:.
Provided that;:,:
(1)There stall be one automobile parking space for
every five seats provided in the said area for assemblages of
people, said parking space shall consist of an off the street
area of 160 square feet per car capacity required, plus ade-
quate area for safe and convenient ingress and egress, and the
same shall be paved or otherwise surfaced so as to eliminate
dust.
(2) Wherever the said parking area shall abuttupon an
"Rt' Zone there shall be erected a six foot solid fence or .wall.
(3) Wherever flood lights are used for illumination the
same shall be so arranged as to reflect the light away from the
adjoining premises,
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty days
after the date of its adoption, and prior to the expiration of
fifteen days from the passage hereof shall be published once
in the 'rest Covina Tribune, a newspaper printed and published
in the City of West Covina, County of Los Angeles, State of
California.
