AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO, INCORPORATING
IN AND MAKING A PART OF SAID CITY OF :VEST
COVINA CERTAIN UNINHABIT TERRITORY OUT-
SIDE OF SAID CITY AND CONTIGUOUS THERETO,;
KNOWN AS WESTERLY ADDITION NO. 4
111HEREA1,. the City Council of the City of West Covina
did on the 8 day of ,1949, receive a verified
written petition sigrYedot less than one-fourth of the
owners of the area of land representing not less than one-
fourth of the assessed value of such territory according to
the last preceding equalized assessment roll of the County
of Los Angeles; and,
WHEREAS The City Council did at a regular meeting
held on the tM day of,c. 1949, adopt a resolution
giving notice of such proposed annexation, which resolution
specifically described the boundaries of the territory so
proposed to be annexed to the City of West Covina, desig-
nating the same as Westerly Addition No. 4;; and,
WHEREAS, said Resolution was duly published in accord-
ance with law, in the West Covina Tribune, a newspaper printed
and published in the City of West Covina, giving notice of the
day and hour and place when and where any person owning real
property within said territory so proposed to be annexed and
having any objections to the proposed annexation might appear
before the City Council of the City of ';lest Covina and show
cause why such territory should not be annexed;; and
WHEREAS,, the City Council of the City of West Covina
set the date of such.hearing not less than 15 nor more than 40
days from the date of the passage of such resolution, to -wit:
the 27th day of :.June ,1949;. and
- WHEREAS, on the said 27thday ofjT1np1949, said matter
duly came before the City Council of the City of West Covina for
a hearing and no persons filed against the proposed annexation.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West
Covina do ordain as follows::
Section 1. That the annexation to the said City of
West Covina of the territory hereinafter described, the descrip—
tion which is set forth in the verified written petition to the
City of West Covina dated the 25th day of May, 19499 and desig-
nated in the resolution and notice of said City Council as the
Westerly Addition No.4, be and the same is hereby approved, and
that the territory hereinafter described be, and the same is,
hereby annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the City
of West Covina. ,-

Section 2. That the territory hereinbefore referred
to and which is hereby annexed to, made a part of, and incor-
porated in the City of West Covina, is more particularly de—
scribed as follows::
Beginning at the most southerly corner of
Tract No. 14387, as per map recorded in
Book 300, Pages 27 and 28 of Maps, in the
office of the County Recorder of the
County of Los Angeles, State of California;;
thence N 48 Deg. -28 -25" W 926.93 Feet
to the most westerly corner of said tract;
thence N 41 Deg. -30' -25" E 342.00 feet
to the centerline of Mac Devitt Street as
shown on said map; thence S 48 Deg. -28" E
926.95 feet to the south-easterly line of
said tract; thence S41 Deg. -30' -36"' W
342.02 feet to the point of beginning.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty
days after the date of its adoption, and prior to the expira-
tion of fifteen days from the passage hereof shall be pub—
lished once in the Nest Covina Tribune, a newspaper printed
and published in the City of West Covina, County of Los
Angeles, State of California..
