AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO, INCORPORATING
IN AND MAKING A PART OF SAID CITY OF WEST
COVINA CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
OUTSIDE OF SAID CITY AND CONTIGUOUS
THERETO, KNGNN AS SOUTHERLY ADDITION NO. 4.
ITHEREAS the City Council of -the City of West Covina
did on the `Y� day of F�_ , 1949, receive a verified
written peti�tibn signed by n Mess than one-fourth of the
owners of the area of land representing not less than one-fourth
of the assessed value of such territory"according to the last
"- preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of Los
Angeles; and,
VIMEREAS, the'City'Council did at a regular meeting held
on 27th day of April, 1949, adopt a resolution giving notice of
such proposed annexation, which resolution specifically described
the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the
City of West Covina, designating the same as Southerly Addition
No. 4; and,
WIMEAS, said Resolution was duly published in accor-
dance with law, in the West Covina Tribune, a newspaper printed
and published in the City of West Covina, giving notice of the
day and hour and place when and where any person owing real
property within said territory so proposed to be annexed and
having any objections to the proposed annexation might appear
before the City Council of the City of West- Covina- and show
cause why such territory should not beabnexed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of.West Covina
set the date of such hearing not less than 15 nor more than 40
days from the date of the passage of such resolution, to -wit:
the 13th day of Hay, 1949; and-
ir?HEREAS, on the said 13th day of Tray, 1949, said matter
dulycame before the City Council of the City of West Covina for

a hearing and no persons filed against the proposed annexation.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City .Council of the City of West
Covina do ordain as follows:,
Section 1. That the annexation to the said City of
nest Covina of the territory hereinafter described, the descrip-
tion which is set forth in the verified written petition to -the
City of West Covina dated the 2 day of _ _ , 1949;
and designated in the resolution and notice of said City Council
as the -Southerly Addition No. 4, be and --the same is hereby ap-
proved, and -that the territory -hereinafter described be, and
the same is, hereby annexed to, incorporated in and made a part
of the City of West Covina..
Section 2. That -the territory hereinbefore referred
to and which is hereby annexed to, -made a part of,'and incor-
porated in the City of West Covina, is more particularly de-
scribed as follows:
All -that property within -the County of Los Ange-
les, State of California, bounded and described
as follows:
All of Tract No...12505,-as, per map recorded in'
Book 337, Pages 43 and 44 of Maps in the office
of -the -County Recorder of Los Angele-s- County',
and Lots 363 and 364 of,Tract No. 606, as per
map recorded in Book 15, pages: 142 and 143 of
Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of
Los Angeles -County, and Lot 114 of E. J. Bald-
vJin's Fourth Subdivision as" per map recorded
in Book- 8, pages 186 of Maps ; in the office of
the County Recorder -of Los Angeles County,
State of California.
Section 3. This Ordinance -shall take effect thirty
days after the date of its adoption, and prior to the --expiration
of -fifteen days from the passage hereof shall be published once
in the West Covina Tribune- a newspaper printed and published
in the City of West Covina, County of Los Angeles, State of
California.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council
