AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 147 CHANGING THE ZONING,MAP OF THE CITY.
OF WEST COVINA.
The City Council of the City of West Covina do ordain as fol-
lows:
Section 1. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 147, entitled,
trAN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING ZONES IN THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
A14D THEREIN REGULATING THE USE OF LAND, HEIGHT OF BUILDINGS,
AND YARD: -SPACES; ADOPTING A MAP SHOWING THE BOUNDARIES OF SAID
ZONES; DEFINING THE TERMS USED IN THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING
FOR ITS ADJUSTMENT, AMENDMENT AND ENFORCEMENT; PRESCRIB12IG
PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES OR PORTIONS
OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT TIEREWITH", Adopted January 21, 1948,
is hereby amended by adding thereto, as a part of the Zoni
Map of the City of West Covina, Section 3.1 and Subsection (a)
to said Section 3.1, to read as follows:
3.1. Changes in the boundaries and classifications of
the Zoning Map of the City of West Covina:
(a) Each respective portion of the territory shown on
the maps hereinafter set forth in this subsection be, and the
same is, hereby excepted from the particular zone in which such
respective portion thereof has rw.se been placed and desig-
nated by the provisions of r', and each such respec-
tive portion of said territory is hereby placed in and desig-
nated as the particular zone hereinafter shown on said maps;
provided, that no such portion of such territory shall be deemed
to be so excepted from any such zone unless a zone designation
is placed within the boundaries of such portion of such terri-
tory as shown on slid maps. Provided further, that on any
portion of the territory shown on said maps designated as R-3
there shall.__ be erected only multiple family dwellings thereon,
not exceeding one story in height, and no other uses as pro-
vided in this Section shall be made of any such portion hereby
excepted.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty days
after the date of its adoption, and prior to the expiration
of fifteen days from the passage hereof shall be published once
in the West Covina Tribune, a newspaper printed and published
in the City of West C ovina, County of Los Angeles, State of

First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
