AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION TO, INCORPORATII,IG IN, AND MAKING A
FART OF SAID CITY OF WEST COVINA CERTAIN UNINHABI-
TED TERRITORY OUTSTDR OF SAID CITY AND CONTIGUOUS
THERETO KNOWN AS "WESTERLY ADDITION.01
Whereas the City _Council of the City of West Covina did
on the .f day of 6., 1948, receive a verified written
petition signed by n t les -han one-fourth of the ownersr of
-�the land representing not less than one-fourth of the assessed
value, of such territory according to the last preceding equal-
ized assessment roll of the County of Los Angeles; and
Whereas the City Council did at a regular meeting held
on, the Y day of ?Jj1�"�`� , 1,948, adopt a resolution
giving notice of such proposed annexation, which resolution
specifically described the boundaris of the territory so pro-
posed to be annexed to the City of `X st Covina, designating the
same as Westerly Addition; and
Whereas, said resolutions were duly posted in accordance
with the ordinances of the City of West Covina giving notice
of the day and hour, and place when and where any person owning
real property within said territory so proposed to ,be annexed
and having any objections to the proposed annexation might appear
before the City Council of the City of West Covina and show cause
why such territory should not be annexed; and
Whereas, the City Council of Went Covina set such hearing
not less than 15 nor more than 40. days from the date of the pass-
ing of such resolution, to-iniit : the day.. of , 1948;
and
WHEreas, on the day of 1948, said matter duly
came before the City Council. of West Covina for a hearing, and no
persons filed against the proposed annexation,
NUX THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEST COVINA
DO 6RDAIN AS FOJ,LOWS:
Section 1. That the annexation to the said City of West
Covina of the territory hereinafter described, the description
,of which is set forth in the verified written petition to the
City of West Covina dated the _L_7_ day of , 1948, and
designated in the resolution and notice of said City Council of
West, Covina as the Westerly Addition, be, and the same is hereby
approved, and that the territory hereinafter described be, .and the
same is hereby annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of
the City of West Covina.
Section 2. That the territory hereinbefore referred to
and which is hereby annexed to, made a part of and incorporated
in the City of Test Covina, is more particularly described as
follows:
All that property in the County of Los Angeles,
State of California, bounded and described as
follows:
Beginning at a point in the Northwesterly boun-
dary line of the City of 'west Covina; said point
• being also the most Southerly corner of Lot 42,
Tract No. 13721, as shown on Map recorded in Book
273, pages 48, 49, and 50 of Maps, in the office
of the County Recorder of said County; thence
Northwesterly in a direct line to the most West-
erly corner of Lot 6, said Tract; thence North-
easterly along the Northwesterly linesof Lots
6, 5, and E4 of said Tract to the most Northerly
corner of said Lot 4.; thence Southeasterly in a
direct line to the most Easterly corner of Lot 9,
said Tract;thence Northeasterly in a direct
line to the most Easterly corner of Lot 12, said
Tract; thence Northwesterly in a direct line to
the most Northerly corner of said Lot 12; thence
Northeasterly in a direct line to the most Norther-
ly corner of Lot 15, said Tract; thence Easterly
Along the Northerly line of said Lot 15 a distance
of 102.12 feet to the Northeasterly line of said
Lot 15'; thence Southeasterly along the Northeast-
erly line of Lot 15, and the Southeasterly prolon-
gation thereof to the Northwesterly line of Lot 34,
said Tract; thence Northeasterly in a direct line
to the rnost Northerly corner of said Lot 34; thence
Southeasterly in a direct line to said Northwesterly
boundary line of said City; thence Southwesterly
a thereon to the point of beginning.
Section 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to be posted
in three of the most public places in the City,of West Covina,
to -wit: at the pdice office, 361 Tiest Garvey Boulevard; one
in front of the West Covina School House, and one at the north-
west corner of ]Puente Street and Lark Ellen Aiaenue, and shall
file a certified copy of this ordinance with the Secretary of
State of California, and one with the County Surveyor of the
County of Los Angeles, and said ordinance shall be in full
force and effect thirty days after and from the date of posting.

clerk of the city of Viest Covina, and is a citizen of the U. S. ,

APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO, INCORPORATING IN, AND MAKING A PART
. OF SAID CITY OF WEST COVINA CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY OUTSIDE
OF SAID CITY ADD CONTIGUOUS THERETO KN0WN AS "WESTERLYADDITION,"
to -wit : one at the police office 361 West Garvey Blvd., one in
front of the West Covina School House, and one at the northwest
corner of Puente Street and Lark Ellen Avenue.
