AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF vMST COVINA APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION TO, INCORPORATING IN, AND MAKING A
PART OF SAID CITY OF WEST COVINA CERTAIN UNINHAB-
ITED TERRITORY OUTSIDE OF SAID CITY AND CONTIGUOUS
THERETO KNOVIN AS SOUTHERLY ADDITION NUMBER THREE.
7JMREAS the City Council of the City of West Covina did'
on the 8th day of January, 1947 receive a verified written
petition signed by not less than one-fourth of the owners of the
area of land representing not less than one-fourth of the assessed
value of such territory according to the last preceding equalized
assessment roll of the County of Los Angeles; and
1EEREAS the City Council did at a regular meeting held
on January 8th, 1947, adopt a resolution giving notice of such
proposed annexation, which resolution specifically described the
boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City
of west Covina, designating the same as Southerly Addition Number
Three; and
. ',VHEREAS said resolutions were duly posted in accordance
with the ordinances of the City of West Covina giving notice of
the day and hour, and place when and where any person owning real
property within said territory so proposed to be annexed and hav-
ing any objections to the proposed annexation might appear before
the City Council of the City of West Covina and show cause why
such territory should not be annexed; and
"WHEREAS the City Council of Vilest Covina set such hearing
not less than 15 nor more than 40 days from the date of the pass-
age of such resolution, to -wit January 29, 1947; and
VEIEREAS on January 29, 19472 said matter duly came before
the City Council of ''Jest Covina for a hearing, and no persons
filed against the.proposed annexation,
NOW THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of West
Covina do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That the annexation to the said City of Test
Covina of the territory hereinafter described, the description of
which is set forth in the verified written petition to the City
Council of West Covina dated January 8th, 1947 and designated in
the resolution and notice of said City Council of West Covina as
the Southerly Addition Number Three, be, and the same is hereby ap-
proved, and that the territory hereinafter described be, and the
same is hereby annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the
City of West Covina.
Section 2. That the territory hereinbefore referred to
and which is hereby annexed to, made a part of, and incorporated in
the City of West Covina, is more particularly described as follows:
All that property within the County of Los Angeles, State
of California, bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the Southwesterly Boundary line
of the City of West Covina, at the intersection of said
Boundary line with the center line of Orange Avenue, formerly
Irwindale Avenue, (60 feet wide), as said center line is shown
on Map of E.J. Baldwin's 4th Subdivision of part of the
Rancho La Puente, as per map recorded in Book 8 Page 186 of
Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said County;
thence along said center line South 41' 53' Vilest 910 feet to
the center line of Francisquito Avenue (60 feet wide) as said
last-mentioned center line is shown on said E.J. Baldwin's
4th Subdivision; thence along said center line of said
Francisquito Avenue South 480 07' East 1914.72 feet to the
center line of Sunset Avenue (60 feet wide) as said last-
mentioned center line is shown on said E.J. Baldwin's 4th
Subdivision; thence along said center line of said Sunset
Avenue and the prolongation thereof South 410 53' Vilest to the
Center line of Fairgrove Avenue, formerly Cameron Avenue,
(60 feet wide) as said last-mentioned Avenue is shown on Tract
No. 606;*thence along said last described prolongated line and
the Southeasterly lines of said'Lot 362 and Lot 134 of said
E. J. Baldwin's 4th Subdivision to said center line of said
Francisquito Avenue;'thence along said center line of said
Francisquito Avenue South 48° 07' East to the center line of
California Avenue (60 feet wide) as said last-mentioned cen-
ter line is shown on said E.J. Baldwin's 4th Subdivision;
thence along said center line of said California Avenue North
41° 53' East 910 feet to said Southwesterly boundary line of
said City of West Covina; Thence Northwesterly along said
Southwesterly boundary line to the point of beginning.
Section 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to be posted in three
of the most public places in the City of West Covina, to -wit: at
the Police Office, 361 West Garvey Blvd., one in front of the West
Covina School House and one at the Northwest corner of Puente
Street and Lark Ellen Blvd., and shall file a certified copy of
this ordinance with the Secretary of the State of California, and
one with the County Surveyor of the County of Los Angeles, and said
Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days from and
after the date of posting.

To the HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, LOS
ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA:
The undersigned respectfully petition your Honorable Body, re-
questing the annexation to the City of'West Covina of uninhabited
territory adjoining the City of West Covina, and allege:

Your petitioners are the owners of the following described real
property, which adjoins the City of West Covina, in the County of Los
Angeles, State of California:
