�T ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEST COVINA APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION TO, INC ORPORAT ING IN, AND 147AKING
A PART OF SAID CITY OF WEST COVINA CERTAIN UNINI
HABITED TERRITORY OUTSIDE OF SAID CITY AND CONTIG-
UOUS THERETO KNOVIN AS SOUTHERLY ADDITION NO. TWO.
Whereas the City Council of the City of West Covina did
on the lgth day of November, 1946, receive a verified written
petition signed by not less than one-fourth of the owners of the
area of land representing not less than one-fourth of the assessed
value of such territory according to the last prededing equalized
assessment roll of the County of Los Angeles; and
Vtihereas the City Council did at a regular meeting held
on December 4th, 1946, adopt a resolution giving notice of such
proposed annexation, which resolution specifically described the
boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City
of West Covina, designating the same as Southerly Addition number
two; and
INhereas said resolutions were duly posted in accordance
with the ordinances of the City of 'Nest Covina giving notice of the
day and hour, and place when and where any person owning real pro-
perty within said territoryso proposed to be annexed and having
any object::.ons to the proposed annexation might appear before the
City Council of the City of West `}Covina and show cause why such
territory should not be annexed; and
T+Thereas the City Council of West Covina set such hearing
not less than 15 nor more than 40 days from the date of the pass-
age of such resolution, to -wit -December 4, 1946; and
Whereas on December 4, 1946 said matter duly came before
the City Council of West Covina for a hearing, and no persons
filed against the proposed annexation,
' NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEST
COVINA do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That the annexation to the said City of West
Covina of the territory hereinafter described, the description of
which is set forth in the verified written petition to the City of
Council of West Covina dated November 15, 1946 and designated in
the resolution and notice of said City Council of West Covina as
the Southerly Addition number two, be, and the same is hereby app-
roved, and that the territory hereinafter described be, and the
same is hereby annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the
City of West Covina.
Section 2. That the territory hereinbefore referred to
and which is hereby annexed to, made a part of and incorporated in
the City of West Covina, is more particularly described as follows:

All that property within the County of Los Angeles, State
of California, bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the Southerly boundary of the City
of West Covina, at the intersection of said Boundary with
the Westerly line of Covina Avenue (60) feet wide) as said
Ave. is shown on County Surveyor's Map No. B611 Sheet 2 on file
in the office of the Surveyor of said County; thence South-
erly along said Westerly line to the Southerly line of Lot
314 of E. J. Baldwin's Fifth Subdivision of a portion of the
Rancho La Puente, as shown on map recorded in Book 12 Pages
134 and 135 of Maps., in the office of the Recorder of said
County; thence Westerly along said Southerlylline of said Lot
to the Westerly line of said Lot; thence Northerly along the
Westerly lines of said Lot, 306 and the Southerly prolongation
of and the Westerly line of Lots 297 and 290, each of said E.
J. Baldwin's Fifth subdivision to said Southerly boundary of
City ofWest Covina, thence Easterly along said Southerly
boundary to the point of beginning.
Section 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passaye of this Ordinance and cause the same to be posted in three
of the most public places in the City of 'Nest Covina, to -wit; at
the police office, 361 West Garvey Blvd., one in front of the Nest
Covina School House and one at the northwest corner of Puente
Street and Lark Ellen Blvd, and shall file a certified copy of
this ordinance with the Secretary of the State of California, and
one with the County Surveyor of the County of Los Angeles, and said
Ordinance shall be in full force and effect hirty days from and
after the date of posting.
