Ordinance - 123• ORDINANCE NO. 123 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA APPROVING THE ANTjEXATION TO, INCORPORATING IN, AND �JIAKING A PART OF SAID CITY OF WEST COVINA CERTAIN UNINHAB- ITED TERRITORY OUTSIDE OF SAID CITY ,M CONTIGUOUS THERETO KNOAN AS EAHTERLY ADDITION N.UPIIBER THREE. Whereas the City Council of the City of !Vest Covina did on the seventh day of May, 1946 receive a verified written petition signed by not. less than one-fourth. of the owners of the area of % , land representing not less than one-fourth of the assessed value of such territory according to the last preceding equalized as- sessment roll of the County of Los A4geles; and Whereas the City Council did at a special meeting called for that purpose on May 7, 1946 adopt a resolution giving notice of such proposed annexation, which resolution specifically described the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be an- nexed to the City of West Covina, designating the same as East- erly Addition Number Three; and Whereas said resolutions were duly posted in accordance with the ordinances of the City of West Covina giving notice of the day and hour, and place when and where any person owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed and having • any objections to the proposed anneDtagion might appear before the City Council of the City of West Covina and show cause why such territory should not be annexed; and Whereas the City Council of 'West Covina":set such hearing not less than 15 nor more than 40 days from the date of the pass- age of such resolution, to -wit: May 22, 1946; and Whereas on May 22, 1946 said matter duly came before the City Council of 'Nest Covina for a hearing, and no persons appearing to protest or object and no written protest having been filed against the proposed annexation, AV NOW, THEREFOR;, TNF CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST • COVINA do ordain as follows: Section 1. That the annexation to the said City of "Nest Covina of the territory hereinafter described, the descrip- tion of which is set forth in the verified written petition to the City Council of West Covina dated Ilay 7, 1946 and designated in the resolution.and notice of said City Council of West Covina as the Easterly .Addition slumber Three, be, and the same is hereby approved, and that the -territory hereinafter described be, and the same is hereby annexed -to, incorporated in and made a part of the City of 1,11est Covina. • Section 2. That the territory hereinbefore referred to and which is hereby annexed to, made a pa rt of and incorporated in the City of West..Covina, is more particularly described as follows: PARCEL A. That portion of Lot 116 in Tract No. 930 in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map thereof recorded • in Book 17, pages 38 and 39 of Maps in the Office of the County Recorder of said County, described as follows: Beginning at a point in the Easterly line of Citrus Street bearing North 10 04' East, 2.92 feet from the intersection of said easterly line with the southerly line of Vine Avenue as described in a dddd to said County recorded in Book 6134, page 200 of Deeds and running thence southI-131° 34' East, 466.91 feet to the beginning of a tan- gent to curve concave to the Northeast and having a radius of 200 feet; thence southeasterly along said curve 47.59 feet; thence tangent to said curve South 450 12' East, 127.74 feet; thence South 79' 10' 50" Nest, 68.38 feet to a point in the southerly line of that parcel of land conveyed to C.J. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to be posted in three • of the most public places in the City of West Covina, to -wit: At the door of the West Covina Club House, on Sunset Avenue in front of the West Covina School_Rouse, and at the Northwest corner of Puente Street and Lark Ellen Boulevard, and shall file a certified copy of this Ordinance.with the Secfetary of the State of California, and one with the County Surveyor of the County of Los Angeles, and said Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days from and after the date of posting.
