ORDINANCE NO. 2 2'
• AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION TO, INCORPORATING IN, AND MAKING A
PART OF SAID CITY OF WEST COVINA CERTAIN UNINHAB_
ITED TERRITORY OUTSIDE OF SAID CITY AND CONTIGUOUS
THERETO KNOWN AS SOUTHERLY ADDITION NUMBER ONE.
Whereas the City Council of the City of West Covina did
on the third day of March, 1946 receive a verified written petition
signed by not less than one-fourth of the owners of the area of
land representing not less than one-fourth of the assessed value
of such territory according to the last preceding equalized as-
sessment roll.of the County of Los Angeles; and
Whereas the City Council did at its regular meeting held
on March 3, 1946 adopt a resolution giving notice .of such proposed
annexation, which resolution specifically described the boundaries
of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of West
Covina, designating the same as Southerly Addition Number One; and
Whereas said resolutions were duly posted in accordance
with the ordinances of the City of 'West Covina giving notice of the
day and hour, and place when and where any person owning real
property within said territory so propoxed to -be annexed and having
any objections to the proposed annexation might appear before the
City Council'of the City of West Covina and show cause why such

territory should not be annexed;.and
Whereas the City Council of West Covina set such hearing
not less -than 15 nor more than 40 days from the date of the pass-
age of such resolution, to -wit: April 24, 1946; and
Whereas on April 24, 1946 said matter duly came before
the City Council of West Covina for a hearing, and no persons
appearing to protest or object and no written protest having been
filed against the proposed annexation.,
NOW, THEREFOREq THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEST
COVINA.do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That the annexation to the said City of
West Covina or the territory hereinafter described, the de6crip-
tion of which is set forth in the verified written petition to
the City Council of West Covina dated March 3, 1946 and designated
in the resolution and notice of said City Council of West Covina
ad the Southerly Addition Number One, be, and the same is hereby
approved, and that the territory hereinafter described be, and
the same is hereby annexed to, incorporated in and made a part
of the City of West Covina.
Section 2; That the territory hereinbefore referred. to,
and which s�hereby annexed to, made a part of and incorporated in
the said City of West Covina, is more particularly described as
follows:
That certain portion of the County of Los Angeles, State
of California, described as follows:
I
Lot 288 of E. J. Baldwin's 5th Subdivision of Rancho
La Puente, all as shown o7a map recorded in Book 12, at pages 134
and 135 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of Los
Angeles County, California.
Section 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to be posted in three
of the most public places in the City of West Covina, to -wit: At
the door of the West Covina Club House, on Sunset Avenue in front
of the 'West Covina School House, and at the Northwest corner of
Puente Street and Lark Ellen Boulevard, and shall vile a certified
copy of this Ordinance with the Secretary of the State of California,
and one with the County Surveyor of the County of Los Angeles, and
said Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days from
and after the date of posting.

APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO, INCORPORATING IN, AND MAKING A PART
OF SAID CITY OF WEST COVINA CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY OUTSIDE
OF SAID CITY AND CONTIGUOUS THERETO KNOWN AS SOUTHERLY ADDITION
NUMBER ONE", to -wit: one at the door of West Covina Club House,
