ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA AMENDING ORTJa
IDIANCE NO. 101 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA ORDERING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A SET -BACK
LINE ON THE STATE HIGHWAY AND OTHER STREETS OF. WEST
COVINA" BY ADDING A NEW SECTION HERETO, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. Ordinance No. 101, entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
UP WEST COVINA ORDERING THE ESTABLISHM&NT OF A SET -BACK LINE ON
THE STATE HIGHWAY AND OTHER STREETS. OF WEST COVINA" is hereby a-
mended by adding thereto a new section to be numbered lJ and to
read as follows:
SIDE YARDS
There shall be side yards, the width of each to be 10ii
of the min mum width of the lot, but in no case shall each such
side yard be less than 5 feet in width; and further provided that
on corner lots the building line from the street running parallel
with the -side line of such lots shall be not less than twenty (20)
per cent of the average width of such lots,, and the grade under
such building to be not lower than the lowest point outside and
im-mediately adjacent to such building. -

the fact that a large number of subdivisions are con -

ly injure the ultimate execution of the orderly plan for buildings
in such subdivision; the City Council of said City therefore, find
and determines that for the immediate preservation of the public
health, peace, safety, comfort, convenience, interest and welfare,
an emergency exists and this ordinance is enacted as an emergency
measure and ordinance, and that the same shall.take effect immed-
iately upon the same being posted by the City Clerk In the manner
required by law and by the ordinances of the City of West Covina.
