ORDINANCE NO. o 7
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA PROHIBITING THE CONSUMMPTION
OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR ON PUBLIC HIGHWAYS;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: "Alcoholic beverage": means and
includes alcohol, spirits, liquor, wine, beer and every
liquid or solid containing alcohol, spirits, wine or
beer, and which contains one-half of one percent or
more of alcohol by volume and which is fit for beverage
purposes either alone or when diluted, mixed or combined
with other substances.
SECTION 2: A "vehicle" is a device in, upon or by
which any person or property is or may be propelled, moved
or drawn upon a highway. .
SECTION 3: "Highway" includes bridges, culverts,
curbs and sidewalks, in the City of West Covina.
SECTION 4: Every person who consumes any alco-
holic beverage upon any public highway whether such person
is or is not in or upon a vehicle is quilty of a misdemean-
or.
SECTION 5: Every person who violates any of the
provisions of this ordinance is quilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction is punishable by a fine not exceeding
three hundred dollars or by imprisonment in the City or
County jail for a period not exceeding six months or by
both said fine and imprisonment.
SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of West
Covina shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance, and
shall cause the same to.be posted in three public places
i in said City, and thirty days thereafter upon the final
adoption thereof the same shall be in full force and effect.

1945.
