AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING TRESPASSING UPON
PRIVATE PROPERTY AND PROVIDING PZ"NALTIES
FOR THE VIOLATION HERR+;OF.
The City.Council of the City.of West Covina do ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to trespass in,
uopn, on, or across the property of another, without the consent of
or permission of the person, firm, or corporation in charge or
control thereof.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall have no application to a trespass
• committed by any officially authorized peace officer of law enforce-
ment agent when such trespass is committed in the execution of such
• officer or agent's official duty, nor to any,..pgrson visiting or calling
at the residence or place of business of another person for the purpose
of transacting any legitimate business.
SECTION 3. Every person, as principal, agent or otherwise, violat-
ing or failing or neglecting or refusing to comply with any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdeameanor,'
and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by fine not exceeding
Five Hundred Dollars (500.00) or by imprisonment in the City Jail for
not more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment, and
each such person, as principal, agent or otherwise, shall be deemed
guilty of a separate offense for each day during any portion of which
the violation of, or failure, neglect or refusal to comply with any of
the provisions of this ordinance is committed, contained or permitted
by such persons.
SECTION 4. If any section, sub -section, sentence, clause or phrase
or word of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or
unconstitutional, such decision shall not effect the validity of the
remaining portions of this ordinance. The City Council hereby declares
that it would have passed this ordinance, and each section, sub -section,
sentence, clause, phrase, or word thereof, irrespective of the fact that
any one or more sections, sub -sections, --sentences, clause, phrases, or
words be declared invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTIONS. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and cause the same to be posted in three public places in
• the City of West Covina.

(a) He is regularly employed as a maintenance electrician.
Section 6. VALIDITY OF CERTIFICATESi Any master electric-
ian's certificate issued by the County of Los Angeles, which is
valid in said County, shall be valid in the City of West Covina,
unless, pursuant to the provisions of this ordinance, the City
Council makes an order that such certificate is not valid within
the City of West Covina.
Section 7..CHARGES AGAINST CERTIFICATE HOLDERS. Any person may
file with the City Council written charges against the holder of any
electriciants certificate issued by the City of West Covina. Such
charges shall state in detail the nature and substance of the mat-
ters charged and must be signed with the full name and correct ad-
dress of the person making the charges.
Section 8, NOTICE, OF HEARING. The -City Council shall not sus-
pend or revoke any such certificate until it shall have given ' the
holder thereof at least ten (10) days written notice to appear be-
fore it and show cause why his certificate should not be suspended
or revoked.
Section 9 SUSPENSION OR REVOCATION OF CERTIFICATE. If the
City Council finds that the holder of any . such certificate has wil-
fully violated any of the provisions of this or any other ordin-
ance or law governing the installation, alteration or repair of
electrical wiring or equipment in the City of West Covina, has wil-
fully allowed the use of his certificate by another person, or is
guilty of any offense involving moral turpitude, it may in its dis-
cretion, make an order cancelling or suspending such certificate
until such order is rescinded or for a specified period of time.
Section 10. If any, provision of this ordinance, or the ap-
plication thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid,the
remainder of the ordinance and the application of such provision to
other persons or circumstances shall not be affected thereby.
Section 11. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this ordinance, and cause the same to be po'stednlii three
public places in the City of West Covina as required by City
Ordinance, and thirty days thereafter the same shall take effect
• and be inforce.

PRIVATE PROPERTY AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF"
in three public places in said city to -wit; One in foont of the
West Covina School House, one at 1943 West State Highway, same being
the place where the regular meetings of the City Council are held, and
one.at the Northwest corner of Puente Street and Lark Ellen Blvd.
