CALL TO ORDER — Mayor Sykes called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m.

DISCUSSION ITEM
BALLOT MEASURE
1) Argument in Support of City Manager Ballot Measure
It is recommended that the City Council approve the argument in support of the City
Manager ballot measure.
Interim City Manager Mauk introduced the item.
Tuesday August 11, 2015
Councilmember Wong provided a separate proposed ballot argument, keeping the same proposed
arguments presented by staff, however, rearranged argument points and added key words for
emphasis, including asking the voter to vote yes on the ballot measure. Councilmember Wong
provided a brief review of his proposed argument.
Council engaged in lengthy discussion regarding proposed text and authors of the argument.
Following discussion, a rewritten ballot argument was presented to the City Council for final
review.
Motion by Toma and seconded by Wong to approve the final drafted ballot argument in support
of the City Manager ballot measure and for all five councilmember to be authors of the argument.
Motion carried 5-0.
