Mayor Sanderjon, along with Michele McNeill, Community
Services Director, recognized Eirin Ferreiro, winner of the August
Photo contest, and Michelle Souza, who was awarded Honorable
Mention.
Mayor Sanderson recognized Dr. Sylvia Mann, who was named
Los Angeles County Fair's 2010 West Covina Community Hero
for her dedication to the Arts and coordinating the re -birth of the
West Covina S�mphony Orchestra.
Mayor Sanders n presented Dr. David Alfaro and Don Fernald of
West Covina rotary, a proclamation designating October 24
through October 30, 2010 as Red Ribbon Week.
RECESS Mayor' Sanderson called a recess of the City Council meeting at
7:45 p.m. The City Council reconvened at 7:56 p.m. with all
members prese t except Councilmember Hernandez:

City has regula ions for ice cream trucks.
Jesse Valenzuela Jesse Valenzu la, West Covina resident and apartment manager at
1800 Badillo, 4ddressed the lack of street sweeping due to cars on

Birdie Azpetia Birdie Azpeti , West Covina resident, addressed parking issues
created by residents with trashcans and cones around the Japanese
Community Center when there is an event eliminating parking for
event attendees.
Irene Fleck Irene Fleck, est Covina resident, shared upcoming Library news
and events.
Herb Redholtz Herb Redholtzl West Covina resident, addressed a request he made
at the previou� meeting regarding the work on irrigation lines on
the south side and thanked Shannon Yauchzee for his prompt
follow-up and addressed Proposition 22 voicing his support.
